Wow!~!!!

I just joined a gym today and went to a dance class. It was loads of fun, but I still like Richard's music better :oP I also like Richard better all together... too bad his studio isn't here...

Anyways, residency is difficult and left me no time for exercise, but seening how wonderful I feel today I am going to try my hardest to keep exercising as much as possible!!!

I live above an old lady now and feel bad about thumping on her head with Richard. She'll be leaving for Florida in the winter though for about 3 months or so... I am intending to do Richard then everytime I can!

Well, today's workout consisted of 1 hour of aerobics!!!! Yeah! I feel great!

So... I went to graduation and haven't exercise until today, but on the plus side we did walk several times around campus... not quite exercise but not totally a couch potato! At my friend's house I did about 20 pushups one of the days and some toning on the other day.

Today I did:

Melt it Off! with Mitch Gaylord. I did te 10 minute working out and my arms almost fell off

I think Sweatin' 1 is a bit more aerobic than sweatin' 2. I did Sweatin' to the Oldies 1 today and had a hard time (plus also, I didn't work out as often as I normally do this week). Anyways, I think I need to do a combination of 1 and 2.

Okay, I got home late today and even though it was a bit late decided to do the new DVD... I took my shoes off and tried not to make too much noise for my neighbors (I think it worked).

I didn't get too sweaty, mainly because I was learning the movements :o) I can't wait till I know this DVD as well as the first one!

Hello to all!

Well, I've decided to create a new blog-- this one is really just for me to track my exercise. I've been exercising for about a month and a half (I've begun Feb. 4th, 2008),and pretty much stuck to it; I am extremely proud of myself!!!

Throughout medical school it has been way too easy for me to avoid exercising-- (They weren't kidding... it really is a busy time :o) ) But, making excuses is too easy. I wanted to do things right: I want to set an example for my young patients... and do as I preach.

So I don't make excuses for myself anymore.
I exercise.
You should too!

So about 2 months ago when I decided I had to make this life changing habit a... well... a habit, I had a mission. My mission was to find an exercising program I could do, and have fun while doing so. I get bored too easily and don't stick to things if they are boring. I also HATE running... I suspect it has to do with the fact that I was very out of shape... So, it couldn't be boring or running! It had to be something that would aid me to return to exercising.

After a lot of thought I bought Richard Simmon's Sweatin' to the oldies DVD for 10 bucks at Amazon. This was my catalyst. It has been a fun ride, and I am not at all bored!!!

So for now, I mainly 'dance with Richard', do several days of weights and stretch.

Yes, this isn't hard core exercising, but this is definitely a beginning. I am planning to stick to this through residency and then through the rest of my life.

From this point on I will just talk about what I have done every time I exercise. I will make it as short as I can... otherwise this log of exercise will get too annoying to write.
